Case Study 2: Oral Presentation
This task requires you to select a specific case study — an artist/concept — that we consider in class during weeks 4-11. The topics for each week are listed in the Weekly Content tab and have specific set and required readings. You will have a chance to consider Case Study options in the first 2 weeks of class, and nominate up to three preferences that your tutor will make every effort to accommodate. You will be advised by end of Week 2 what your topic will be.
The task requires you to read all set and a number of recommended materials for that case study, to summarise their rationale and perspective, to evaluate their position, to analyse and synthesise their arguments, and to make a coherent and concise Powerpoint presentation to the class using text and images lasting about 10 minutes (1000-word equivalent). In your presentation, you will need to:
introduce and provide an overview of your chosen focus area
discuss selected key concepts
discuss a number of key works and demonstrate what they contribute to our understanding of the topic area.
If you have extenuating circumstances that negatively impact your ability to make a live in-class presentation online, consult your tutor about available alternatives, including pre-recording your presentation.
