Assignment Details
Introduction
The gig economy has emerged with the development of technology and has created a new style of innovative businesses and new job opportunities for many. However, the gig economy also creates new ethical dilemmas, concerning employees. In your exploration of the benefits and ethical challenges for employees in the gig economy, consider the advantages and the drawbacks, and make recommendations to relevant stakeholders. You will need to use examples from gig companies and may choose one company to focus on or several; it is up to you.
Task
Step 1: Research: You will need to use the resources and readings from the learning materials, plus your own research to explore the benefits and ethical challenges for employees in the gig economy.
Step 2: Create an infographic in Adobe, Canva or other graphic design tools. It will be one page and should be a visual representation of data and/or information that can be quickly and easily understood. It should consist of a small amount of text and visual elements like images, symbols and data visualisations. Your infographic should:
▢ be well laid out, easy to follow and information should be clear and easy to understand for your audience
▢ able to be printed to an A3 size (double the size of standard A4 size)
▢ use colour and graphics effectively
▢ use engaging and attention-grabbing images (these should also relate to the topic of the infographic)
▢ highlight what is significant in your presentation, so include key elements
▢ include intext citations as required
▢ have a clear and logical flow
▢ properly cite sources on your infographic related to the information you present. Ideally, you can use a small font (but still readable) and be relatively unobtrusive so as not to detract from the visual impact of the infographic.
Step 3: Produce a separate MS Word write-up to discuss explaining details and relevant information relating to your infographic. The write-up is 600 words, uses 12 font size and 1.5 spacing with a minimum of 3 references from reliable sources. You will need to use APA 7 referencing style (your reference list will not be part of the word count).
Step 4: Submit one Word document that includes your write-up, a copy of the infographic and your reference list (APA style).
