Using Case Study 1, focusing on Liam, a 13-year-old in a high school design and technology classroom, follow the structure provided in the task sheet:
Evaluation of Inclusive Education (Part 1):
Discuss inclusion in contemporary Australian educational contexts, including defining key terms.
Establish the context specific to Liam’s case: the year level, school and class demographics, and the teaching area of design and technology.
Consider how inclusive education policies and practices can support Liam's inclusion and meet the needs of other stakeholders (parents, community, school staff, peers).
Profile of Strengths/Needs (Part 2):
Analyse Liam’s disability (Williams Syndrome) and its impact on his education (academic, social, emotional, and physical aspects).
Discuss Liam's background in relation to both family and school contexts.
Identify Liam's strengths, challenges, and needs, and how these can be supported in the design and technology classroom.
Identification of Assessment and Data Collection Methods (Part 3):
Explain and justify additional information needed to make informed decisions and develop challenging learning goals and instruction for Liam.
Discuss appropriate assessment and data collection methods to gather this information.
Identification and Analysis of Appropriate Short-Term Goals and Support Strategies (Part 4):
Identify at least two appropriate short-term goals for Liam.
Discuss suitable educational strategies, differentiation/adjustments, and resources to support Liam in achieving these learning goals.
Presentation of Proposed Programme (Part 5, as an Appendix):
Prepare a document detailing the proposed program of learning for Liam, to be shared with parents and/or support staff.
Use the 'Learner Profile' format and include a summary of the information presented in the report (without adding new information).
