Your task is to use the BSBPMG426_AE_Sk2of2_Appx_4RiskIdentificationAndPrioritisationRegister.xlsx to:

Identify the required deliverables, objectives and resources required for the project

Identify at least five potential and actual risks (threats) for the project. Ensure you include scope creep as an actual risk. Identify one risk for each of the following areas:

resources (human)

budget

performance and quality

scope

schedule.

For each risk:

identify the stage it may occur in the life cycle of the project

determine the priority of the risk based on the potential impact on the project

describe how each risk might be monitored.

Select one of the risks and visually document (for example, using the Risk Analysis Process) how you determined the risk rating for that risk.

Once you have completed the Risk Identification and Prioritisation Register, email it to the Project Manager.

Use the email template in BSBPMG423_AE_Sk2of2_Appx_2ProjectPlan.docx to write your email.

The Project Manager will then organise a meeting with you to make some decisions on the methods, techniques, and tools to mitigate the risk, look at risk management plans, and work on how to report and monitor the risks.

Activity 2: Role Play

To complete this part of the assessment, you will participate in a role play to demonstrate your ability to complete skills-based tasks to industry standards. The role play will be digitally recorded and submitted as evidence.

explain why it is important to know at what stage in the project life cycle the risk may occur

identify and explain the method and tools used to identify and prioritise the risks

ask for confirmation that the content of the Risk Identification and Prioritisation Register

as outlined, is acceptable

ask if there are any other risks to be added to the document after completing the discussion on the Risk Identification and Prioritisation Register

contribute to discussing the possible options to eliminate or manage the risk following Gelos Enterprises’ WHS Hazard Risks and Reporting Procedure and ICT Risk Management Policy, including the strengths and limitations of the possible controls for three risks from different categories.

document the three risks discussed during the meeting on the Risk Control Register and discuss the possible controls' strengths and limitations

you might take notes by hand or directly into the Risk Control Register template.

At the meeting, demonstrate effective oral communication and teamwork skills including:

using clear and concise language to share information

using non-verbal language features (such as nodding, smiling etc.) to show cooperation and understanding

asking questions to identify required information

responding to questions as required

using active listening techniques to confirm understanding.

Role/s of the person/s in supporting roles

Ask a friend, colleague or another student to participate in the Role Play. They should act in the role of the Project Manager. You will need to provide your stakeholders with

BSBPMG426_AE_Sk2of2_Appx_3StakeholderScript.docx.docx

Date of observation:

Assessors are to record their observations in enough detail to demonstrate their judgement of the student’s performance against the criteria required.

2.Outline, explain and confirm risk analysis methods, techniques and tools with the Project Manager whereby they:

Outlined the Risk Identification and Prioritisation risk information

Briefly identified the method and tools used to identify the risks, e.g., risk matrix

Asked questions to confirm the risks identified and their priority ranking, e.g. ‘Are there any other risks to be added to the form?’

policy and procedure

Explained the purpose of the Hierarchy of Control

Referred to the Risk Management Polic

5.Contribute to discussion on response to an identified risk for the project that actually occurred whereby they outlined:

Who would be responsible for implementing the contingency plan

The reason the person would be responsible for the implementation

How the person is to implement the contingency plan and in what timeframe

Whether the contingency plan would need amendment and if so, what it would entail
