CAH1ANG Assessment 3: Online Slide Test

Format

3 sets of 2 images; choose one image from each set to write about (ie three answers in total)

Material to be covered:

Artefacts or structures examined in lectures and seminars from the “Art” section of subject (or artefacts of a similar nature)

You will be asked to identify and comment on each of your chosen images:

Identification of artefact, approximate date (be as specific as you can)

Features of significance (e.g. technique, style, iconography)

Importance of this artefact for our understanding of ancient Greece, including awareness of its wider original context

Your answers must be in the form of mini essays, not bullet points

Timing:

This test is designed to be completed in 45 minutes (ie 15 mins per image). Since it is done online, the time limit is 60 minutes in order to allow for typing speeds and any download/upload lag (i.e. 20 mins per image)

The test will open at 12am on Monday 28th October 2024. It will be available for the entire day, so it will close at 11.59pm. However, you should not start the test any later than 11pm (earlier if you have a LAP for extra time allowance: the test will close for all students at 11.59pm).You are advised to start it as early as possible to maximise any necessary “troubleshooting” time given the online format

Once you start test you must complete it in the 60-minute slot – you cannot “pause” the test and re- access it

If you have a LAP which allows you extra time in exams, that extra time will be built into your individual test when you start it. You must still complete the test by 11.59pm on Monday 28th October 2024.

Please note:

The link for the online slide test will be in the “Assessments” folder on LMS (under “Assessment 3). Click on the link to start the test and type your answers into the boxes provided

If you have not finished and submitted the test before the time expires, your answers will be automatically uploaded, so you will not lose your work

If you experience any connectivity issues which prevent you from accessing or completing the test, you must take a screen shot or photo of your screen and email me immediately (g.shepherd@latrobe.edu.au) or telephone on 9479 2864 (leave a voicemail message with your phone number if there is no answer). Belated and/or unsupported claims of test inaccessibility will not be accepted.

Alternative test sittings will only be arranged in very special circumstances and must be supported by third party documentary evidence
