Part B: Week 15, Sunday Nov 9 th , 11.59 pm. |
Assessment Description
Part A: As a group, you will be planning and delivering a nutrition promotion project to the chosen target group. Using the results of the Needs Assessment, you can choose the most appropriate promotion campaign to have the greatest influence on the wellbeing of this chosen group. An evaluation of the project also needs to be written into the program plan. You need to integrate the program into what already exists on campus.
Part B: As an individual, you need to write a report that describes the process involved in development of your health promotion campaign. Consider all the factors involved in each step of the process and planning phases of the project. Evaluate the effectiveness of the program by implementing a type of evaluation tool to monitor the success of the project. This could be to measure change occurring, or simply to measure numbers of attendees, or to get qualitative or quantitative feedback from a survey. Define any aspects that could have been improved on to expand the reach of the campaign.
Assessment Detail
Consider the following topics for discussion and reporting on. This is not an exclusive list.
Group Cohesiveness:
Did the team work well together, was there any problems or conflict, and how were these resolved.
How did you decide upon the plan for what was going to be implemented (relate this to the campus health needs assessment).
How were jobs allocated to the group members and was it a good division of labour for the project at hand.
Creativeness:
Was the project creative and ‘outside the box’ as well as suitable for the target group?
What was your prediction of how effective the campaign would be, and did it turn out how you expected it to? What were the differences between expectation and delivery?
Individual Involvement:
What was your personal involvement in the preparation of the project?
What was your role on the day of the campaign?
How well did your role fit in with the rest of the group?
Description and Evaluation:
Outline what the most important factors were in choosing the type of promotion for this demographic.
Describe the day of the campaign event and explain with reference to the interactions of participants.
What evaluation tools were used for the project?
How did your evaluation of the program delivery align with your views on how the project went?
Improvement Strategies:
Do you feel like it was a successful campaign that met your expectations.
How successful was the project, in terms of the reach you had within the community.
Outline what parts of the program were a success, and what or how would you have done things differently next time to improve the program.
Approximately 1200 – 1500 words
Final reports should be submitted on an individual basis via myMurdoch Learning at the due date, Sunday of Week 15.
HOW IT WILL BE ASSESSED
Assessment will be done through the final report and your evaluation and reflection of the project, as well as the ‘on the day’ delivery of the project, and how well the campaign was run on the day.
The delivery of the project will be assessed around how well the group worked together, as well as on the creativeness of the planned project, and how well it was promoted on campus. For the report, your evaluation needs to discuss the impact created, what tools were used in seeing any real change to health and behaviours, and a critique of what parts were successful as well as what could have been improved or done differently.
Marks will be allocated according to the rubric.
