Assignment details

In industry, you will often be asked to provide progress reports for the work you are undertaking. The purpose of this assignment is to provide your manager (OLA) with a progress report on your plan for Assignment 2B: Management report.

It should only be a page (or at most 2 pages). It should be a rough sketch and summary of the main elements of your report and how much work you have completed to date. It should get you to think about all the elements involved in this project and not leave it all until the last minute.

This assignment supports unit learning outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4.

For this assignment, you are required to prepare a one to two-page progress report containing:

Brief introduction/scope:

A short paragraph that introduces the project.

Define risk (using a citation from an expert source) and explain why understanding specific risk sources, business continuity, hazard risk controls, and risk culture might be important.

Completed work:

Use dot points, descriptions, or a table to detail the tasks you have completed so far in the project. Briefly mention what groundwork you have done, for example, library-based research.

Work in progress:

Summarise here in one or two paragraphs what your work schedule will look like, e.g. finalise the scope, analyse bow-tie diagrams, complete literature search, etc. You can apply dates to outstanding tasks or just a dot-point list of the main elements of the report you need to prepare and compile.

Use dot points, descriptions, or a table to outline the remaining tasks, including an estimated timeline for completion.

What is 'scope' in the context of this assignment?

The scope is a summary of the key elements included in your report. This includes a brief introduction of the topic, defining risk (supported by an expert citation), and explaining why an understanding of specific risk sources, business continuity, hazard risk controls, and the overall risk culture is important for your project.

The purpose of the progress report is to get you to think about all the elements involved in this project and not leave it all until the last minute.

Your management progress report should only be a page (or at most 2 pages). It should be a rough sketch and summary of the main elements of your report and how much work you have completed to date.

The elements of your report should have 3 headings like:
