Assignment overview

This assignment challenges you to creatively digitalise a sport experience of your own, critically assess it using sport marketing components and theory from the unit, and develop and present recommendations to managers in a digital form.

The submission should be created as a storyboard using Adobe Express. A written reflection on the task and learnings will also need to be provided as part of the submission.

This assignment supports unit learning outcomes 2, 3 and 5.

Refer to the assignment rubric for detailed marking criteria.

Assignment details

Task

This assignment is made up of three components:

A descriptive digital storyboard of a sport experience

Analysis and recommendations

Written reflection.

The following sections explain what is required for each of these components.

Digital storyboard

You will build a digital storyboard of a sport experience using Adobe Express. This should include a range of digital content, including images, videos, social posts and promotional material, examples of the purchase process, as well as photos and videos highlighting specific aspects of the event or experience. This digital content can be built with a range of Adobe tools (including Express, Rush, and Photoshop) and then integrated into an Adobe Express page as a timeline or storyboard to demonstrate the event experience.

Important: You should attend your sport experience between Week 7 and Week 8 of the teaching period to ensure you have gained the necessary Adobe skills and covered the related learning materials.

You will collate this digital evidence of an end-to-end sport brand experience either as a participant or a spectator. You are encouraged to plan, collect and include multiple forms of digital content.

The storyboard will be the equivalent of 1000–1200 words.

Analysis and recommendations

You will build on your ‘consumer view’ of the sport experience and assess it against sports marketing theory and concepts from Weeks 5 to 9 of the unit. Recommendations for managers are to be included in this section. Within the analysis, reflect on a range of concepts from the unit: fan/user engagement, product and service quality, sport promotions and the place or servicescape, and the role of other brands (e.g. sponsors or partners).

Create a video response or a set of video posts to communicate recommendations based on your experience for the managers of the event.

The analysis and recommendations will be the equivalent of 600–800 words.

Reflection

Write a 500-word reflection on your experience and learnings as part of the assessment.

Use the Reflection template document (DOCX 34 KB) Download Reflection template document (DOCX 34 KB)to record your reflections.

Adobe learning support

The project utilises a number of Adobe programs. Adobe Express (previously Adobe Spark) will be the essential component, where you must create your digital storyboard for submission for assessment. However, there will be a need to collate and integrate artifacts that will allow you to utilise other programs in the Adobe suite, e.g. Adobe Rush, Adobe Posts, etc.

To assist with the assessment and student learning, there will be support provided throughout the unit. These will include Adobe resources as well as tasks throughout the teaching period which will focus on the following:
