Table 1: Outline of the Selected Site and Proposed New Building

Address of the selected site.

Street address of selected site.

Brief description of the selected site.

A

rea of the site [Draw outline of site in Figure 1]

.

The site area is defined by the total area within the site title boundaries.

Denoted in m2

.

If you do not have access to the area of the site, you can use google maps. Locate the site (you will need the address). Hover your mouse curser to the corner of the site, right click and measure distance. When all points connect google with compute the total area (m2).

Slope of the site

.

Describe the shape and relief of the land. On the site plan you will see various degrees of the gradient of slope, near the boundary, this will indicate the change in elevation of the site. However, if you can't find any simple information on the documents detailing the site slope,

it is

recommend doing a site visit and or having a look on google earth

and noting the following

: Does the site have a slope going downwards or a slope going upwards or a slope going sidewards or rolling and finally is there no slope, and it is just flat. For example, you could write: "The site appears to be flat. If it has a slope, it slightly going downwards south-east towards x Road.

Any other observable features

.

Any existing buildings of other development that required or will require demolition or relocation for the new construction to proceed

.

T

ype and location of

any

existing trees

.

A

djacent properties and streets etc.

Brief description of the proposed new building on the site.

Function/

Purpose.

You may like to

refer

to your Part A information under scope.

Total floor area

.

Number of square metres that is located completely above grade. Denoted in m2.

Number of levels in building

.

The number of above ground levels in the building.

Area of building ‘footprint’ on site. [Locate outline of footprint of the new building in Figure 1]

.

The building footprint is the area measured from the outer surface of the exterior of the building to give a square area. The external components of the building which are not part of the structure are either included/excluded, really depends.

Approximate height of completed building

.

Refer to plans, government documents, media release reports, communication

with architects or do an analysis of the building through observation. This should be in denoted in metres.

Other information as relevant to your selected site and new building.

You may like to include information that relates to

The construction processes.

The position and or locality of the site with respects to the relevant surroundings. Any unique design aspects.

Table 2: Planning the Construction Site Layout

Aspect to consider in planning site layout

This lists WHAT to consider. You must consider 10 aspects in total: 1-6 are required, plus 4 others selected from 7-16.

Explain why this aspect must be considered when planning a site layout. Refer to key regulatory authorities, guides, codes of practices.

This is where you explain WHY each aspect must be considered.

Describe how this aspect is addressed in your site layout.

This is where you describe briefly HOW each aspect is addressed in your site layout. Ensure that you also show 10 aspects on your attached site layout in Figure 1.

Safety

Site enclosure - fencing and/or hoarding

Site offices and facilities

Site entry and site exit - vehicles and pedestrians

Traffic control adjacent to the site - vehicles and pedestrians

Signage

Stormwater management, including soil erosion, drainage and sediment control

Waste and materials for reuse or recycling

Storage of materials and soil stockpiles

Security

Obstructions on or near the site

Noise control

Dust control

Flora and fauna, both on and adjacent to the site
